In the summer of 2011, Orrantia auditioned for the first season of The X Factor. Orrantia was an original YouTube video, was selected by the judges and was awarded four "yeses" votes in the live audition stage. The audition was initially an individual artist, but at Hollywood Week, she was joined by three other female singers to form a group. They were omitted from the live shows during the fifth week.
